Mixed emotions

Today I posted craigslist ads for all of my camping gear.

It is well past time to get rid of it all as we haven't even bothered to try camping for over 2 years and really we haven't had a good time camping in a very long time.

And yet I still think that if I just found the perfect camping spot I might have a good time.  sigh!

We haven't camped in the tent for a very long time, the last two times renting a cabin instead.  Even with the cabin I didn't get any sleep at all.

So yes it is time to let it all go.  Now hopefully someone out there is looking to create great memories with their family with all my gear.

  1. well the most valuable item (the campstove) is set to go at 2 today. The air mattresses tomorrow. hopefully the tent, hammocks and kitchen will also go this weekend.
I told hubby I would give it a month before I donate it.

  2. I don't think I could part with it if it was me. Part of me would always hope!

    1. there are just so many factors that play into this...mostly the fact that we haven't even tried to go camping...even renting a cabin in over two years.
Funny though. I've always claimed that hubby is much more interested in getting rid of all my things than his own... So yesterday while I was waiting for the guy who was buying the campstove I got a message from a guy who wanted to trade me the stove and cooking gear for a tv. :p Hubby was like "yeah!" and I was like "NO!" Luckily the guy for the stove showed up...he plans to use the stove at his hunting cabin. I feel good about this.

    1. Actually, I did not. But as you can see from my comment to Leigh above, "interesting" trade offers will come anyway. ;)

  4. The person interested in the air mattresses bailed. She was wanting them for her kid's slumber party and decided to get a queen sized mattress instead. I warned her about the jumping hazard.

Honestly, I think a better idea for her would be to get a FREE regular mattress. Let the kids "have at it!" and then just throw out the mattress when they're done. Or let the kids sleep on the floor like we always did.
