We are holding a slumber party for Darly's birthday...
What time do we tell them to come over... and what time do we send them home????
As a kid I think we might have started things at like 5 or 6 and went home before noon...but things get foggy when you get older. So since I know lots of you have gone down this path before, I decided to ask you to share your wisdom with me.
Thanks! :D
5 or 6 and over by noon in our house. it works well.
ReplyDeletehave fun!
if it is starting on a friday night, i'd wait and start it at 7pm, give the parents a chance to get home with their kids and maybe even a quick dinner, that way, you can have pizza for the gang around 9 or 10pm, don't have to worry about giving them dinner as well. if it's a saturday, they are going to want to start earlier, no way around that. i'd say pick up time at 11am the next day, get them up for the big breakfast (that is, if they even slept at all) and out of your house before the big lunch;)
ReplyDeletegood luck and have fun!!!
I started our oldest's at 5, and had the parents pick them up anytime between 11 and noon. :) That worked out well. When I did our 8 yr old's at 6, things were rushed and we didn't even get to the cake until 9 pm! Which led to some serious sugar highs. :p
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had any formal slumber parties, but when we have kids over we get them before dinner, and have the parents come over and get them after breakfast. So, I think 5pm to 10am or so would be good if it were us planning.
ReplyDeleteI hope she has fun!
I agree, I think it's best to start at around dinnertime (5 or 6 pm) and end by noon. btw, I just noticed you are a LLL Leader. I was thinking about doing that, becoming a lactation consultant, once the kids start going to school and give me more time. I can't believe I breastfed twins (self-weaned at 20 months), and wouldn't have been able to do it without LLL support!
ReplyDeleteYep, that's what our girls' sleepovers have been like.
ReplyDeleteI guess it's already over. I'm sorry, but I haven't been spending much time on the internet. Definitely set a time frame, otherwise people might overstay their welcome! Blake had his friend spend the night last friday, and he ended up staying two nights. I'd say 7 or 8 p.m. until 10 or 11 a.m
ReplyDeleteLet us know how it went-
