Okay, fess up!

subject: *Re-Gifting

Do you?

Have you?

Would you?

Why or why not?

*Re-Gifting = wrapping up and giving a gift that you received but didn't like or couldn't use to someone else.

  1. Yes, yes and yes. Why do I? Because sometimes I get nice stuff that just isn't my cup of tea... but I know someone else who might like it better.

I'm also the "queen" of returns! DH is well know for getting "crappy" gifts and I'll return them in a flash. One year he got me a tin of popcorn! As soon as I figured out where he got it, it went back! DH says "Oh, I thought you liked popcorn." I always leave a list of present ideas for DH, this year I have a section on my bookmarks titled Renee's Wish List for him...all he has to do is order it direct. LOL!

  2. Yes. Why not? As long as you do it to someone who won't run into the giver, what's the big deal? I'd rather do that than a return :)

  3. I haven't. I wouldn't because I feel that it is cheating and it is wrong. Not only that but it misses the whole point of gift giving. I like to ponder what to get somebody and really put myself into it.

Last year my step-daughter "K" gave my step-daughter "L" a gift that she had received in a white elephant game at a Christmas party. It was one of those cheap ugly fountain statues that sits on your desk. It was covered in pukey angels too. K gave her the gift knowing how L feels about angels and knew that she wouldn't like it. But L was gracious about it all and promptly threw it away at home I'm sure. I felt bad for L and astonished at K for having the nerve to do such a thing.
